Service Agreement

Jules Vandermaat offers this service as an Accredited Evidence Based EFT Practitioner. She is currently being mentored by Dr Craig Weiner to be certified as an Advanced Certified EFT Practitioner with EFT International.

Whilst Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) or Tapping has produced remarkable clinical results, it must still be considered to be in the experimental stage. And therefore, practitioners and the public must take care and responsibility for their use of it.

I understand that the services provided by Jules Vandermaat are educational in nature.

EFT is not intended to diagnose, prescribe or treat any disease, physical or mental.

I am responsible for my own well-being, during and after my work with Jules, and it is my responsibility to ask questions if I have any concerns or need further clarification.

I agree that EFT is different to counselling and traditional talk therapy. Although we do combine elements of exposure therapy, cognitive therapy and mindfulness in EFT, the focus is on the “tapping” on acupressure points, as research has demonstrated this to be the active ingredient.

Neither EFT nor the content on this website is intended as a substitute for regular medical or psychiatric or psychological care. And by accepting theses terms and conditions, you agree that you do not construe it as such.

Please consult your current health care providers regarding your use of EFT. Let them know you are using EFT as a stress management tool.

And do not make any changes to your medications or other treatments without consulting your current health care professionals.

Viewing the information on this website does not constitute a professional relationship with Jules Vandermaat.

By viewing this website you accept complete responsibility for your own health and wellbeing, releasing the owner and any individual contribute testimonials from any liability.

There is no guarantee that you will have the same results as the people who have provided testimonials on those website, as every person is different. People who learn to use EFT/Tapping themselves in between sessions will often get better results, or in a shorter time frame than people who do not.

Confidentiality & Privacy Practices

I understand that each session will be held in the strictest confidence. However, there are legal limits to this confidentiality.

If I disclose that I have thoughts or plans to harm myself or another person, Jules Vandermaat is required by law, as a mandatory reporter, to report ongoing domestic violence, abuse or neglect of children, the elderly or people with disabilities.

Jules would only disclose private information without consent in order to protect clients or the public from serious harm; for example, if a client discussed plans to commit suicide.

As Jules is currently being mentored, she may be sharing an anonymous summary of our session with her mentor only. But only if you provide your written informed consent for her to do so.

All identifying information is removed from that summary, it does not include your name, location, place of work or any other information which may identify you.

Upon completion of her Advanced Certification, her mentor will delete any digital information he has regarding all sessions.

In keeping with the regulations set by HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act) I understand that all paper and electronic records will be kept in secure locations.

Paper records are kept in a locked filing cabinet, and any digital records are password protected.

Cancelled / Missed /Late Appointments

I understand that if I cancel a session with less than 24 hours notice, I am still required to pay for that session.

I am required to phone or send a text message to cancel an appointment, to let Jules know, even if I have cancelled using the online scheduler.

If I need to reschedule a session, I am also asked to provide at least 24 hours notice to do so, and to let Jules know via message.

It is expected that this session will be rescheduled by me within a 30 day period, otherwise I forfeit that session, and cannot claim reimbursement for it.

It is not the responsibility of Jules to reschedule an appointment which I have chosen to cancel or change.

Any arrangements other than this will be at the discretion of Jules Vandermaat.

If Jules needs to reschedule a session with me, she will endeavour to give me as much notice as possible and to make another time as soon as is mutually convenient for us both.

I understand it is important for me to be on time for my session. If I am ten minutes late, that time will be deducted from the total time of my session.

In the event that Jules is running late for any reason, she will endeavour to still give me a full session, wherever possible.
